It’s hard to ignore all of the “love” that comes in February when we’re told to tell others we love them with cards and chocolate. In the midst of this, FoodSpark wants make sure we’re not forgetting to take care of ourselves, by holding space for self-love. Join us for a self-love brunch where we will collectively reflect on what self-love means to each of us and what it looks like in the movement.
Come and share how you think self-love relates to the moment of change we’re currently in as well as how maintaining our spirits, confidence, and health is/can be an important practice in helping to navigate and persevere through these times.
In addition to your dish, bring something or someone that helps your or taught to love yourself - or a story about them! We will share our stories about how we learned self-love, whether through an icon or person(s) who taught us the value of loving ourselves or who were our biggest advocates on our personal journeys for self-love.
This Month's Culinary Theme: Brunch!
With this month’s theme of self-love, brunch seems like a perfect cuisine to enjoy during the February FoodSpark potluck. From pancakes and waffles to fill your bellies to mimosas and marmalades to help start the day, these are some of the dishes we think of most when we think about love. Dishes to consider are: french toast, frittatas, omelets, ham, pancakes (with berries), yogurt bowls with fruit, granola with nuts and seeds, spiced rice with eggs and vegetables, fruit bowls, ginger tea + mango, sweet potato muffins with cheese, fruit salad, avocado toast, bagels and cream cheese, hummus + greens, quinoa salad with apples, fennel, and sausage, latkes, mimosas, fresh squeezed juice…. or any other food that makes you feel loved.
