Since August 9th, the St. Louis region has gathered to organize actions and responses to the shooting deaths of young people like Michael Brown and Vonderrit Myers in our community. FoodSpark is a public potluck that aims to provide safe space for people to connect with each other, share personal experiences, and spark ideas over a shared meal together.
Ferguson FoodSpark: 6 Months Of... will gather with Ferguson (Feb 8 at Greater St. Marks Church) and Shaw community members (Feb 22 at The Word at Shaw) to share artifacts from the past six months, reflect on the progress made thus far, and spark actions that will take us through the next six months toward August 9, 2015.
This Month's Culinary Theme: Sustaining Dishes
Please bring food and dishes that have energized and sustained you throughout the movement thus far.
These events culminated in a FoodSpark Showcase exhibit comprised of the visual responses from both the Ferguson and Shaw FoodSparks. These FoodSparks and Showcase were supported in part by the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis' Social Impact Grant.
