On Saturday, August 17th, FoodSpark will host The Spark, a dinner party which capstones a three-month-long Black Summer series on Black Liberation. We will celebrate local ideas and creators working to address issues facing Black people in St. Louis. At the end of the night, we crowdfund (through audience vote) a microgrant to help amplify one of the ideas.
For a suggested donation of $10, guests will enjoy a meal, hear two-minute presentations, and vote on their favorite proposals. The team with the most votes will receive the funds raised at the door.
This event will be held in the Griot Museum which is fully accessible and is open to families and children. This series is co-organized by FoodSpark, Great Rivers Greenway, The Griot Museum of Black History, Missouri Historical Society, and Young Friends of the Ville.
