This month FoodSpark is collaborating with MAPS and Sloup to host a conversation about ideas and innovation! Taking inspiration from the upcoming STL Design Week, we'll gather participants to think about how chance connections become starting points for innovating ideas. We'll discuss how we might use our combined skills, interests, and networks to create great ideas for the city.

This Month's Culinary Theme: A Simple Ingredient Dish with High Taste Impact

FoodSparks are always potlucks, and this month we are asking folks to bring a dish that experiments with simple ingredients for a large, tasty impact! It could be a 3-ingredient cake, a salad, a casserole, or even a piece of fruit. You name it.


Midwest Artist Project Services (MAPS) offers free or low-cost resources for working artists in all disciplines, collectives, and emerging arts organizations in the St. Louis region and beyond. MAPS aims to promote new and sustainable growth in the arts through funding opportunities, consultation, and providing access to best solutions for the current issues that affect artists. Sloup is a monthly soup dinner in St. Louis that supports projects, primarily artistic or communicative, that need a little funding and belief. Now dormant, from 2010-2015 Sloup was held on the last Sunday of each month, with soup and snacks provided by local establishments, chefs, and community members, as well as grant recipients returning to share their projects. The event asked for a $10-per-person donation at each dinner (100% of which will go directly into that month’s Sloup Fund), entitling each person to a vote for their favorite proposal. Learn more at
