Organized by FoodSpark, The Spark is a pop-up dinner that crowdfunds microgrants for projects and ideas relating to social issues. This gathering at Annie Malone culminates a four-month series in Foodspark's partnership with Young Friends of The Ville, Northside Community Housing, Inc., Missouri Coalition for the Environment, St. Louis Food Policy Coalition, and Good Life Growing.
The partnership aims to fund initiatives working on issues of food legacies, justice, access, and empowerment in the historic Ville neighborhood as well as the across the city of St. Louis. For a suggested donation of $10, guests will enjoy a meal, hear two-minute presentations, and vote on their favorite proposals. The winning team will receive the money raised.
Do you have a project or idea that promotes, supports, or engages issues of food justice, access, or empowerment? Send your one-page proposal to email@example.com by Wednesday, October 17, to be considered; please include your name, the project title, and contact information.
